Netflix Opens Up About Squid Game SS2's Release Date
After a lot of teasing information related to Squid Game ss2, Netflix finally confirmed the expected release date this year.
Despite of many mixed opinions, we cannot deny the fact that Squid Game is one of the most popular TV series globally. After debuting in 2021, this Korean drama has attracted a huge fan base and become a "golden egg" for Netflix. Of course, this company will take advantage of the opportunity to fully exploit it, which is why as soon as the first season ended, Netflix confirmed the production of season 2. Up to now, the production process is almost completed, but netflix is still choosing the right time to launch Squid Game ss2.
Previously, Netflix confirmed that Squid Game ss2 is planned to air this year, but they have not yet responded to the specific date. Fortunately, Netflix's original plan for Squid Game season 2 will not change once there is confirmation of the expected time. During the quarterly earnings call with investors, netflix revealed that Squid Game will launch in late 2024. Although there is no official launch date yet, at least fans will know when the squid game season 2 will be released.
According to Netflix, Squid Game season two and Cobra Kai season six are planned to release at the same time. These two projects will be released at the end of 2024 and are accompanied by a few less notable names.
The new part of Squid Game began production in July 2023, the work is almost completed even though the film crew previously expected it to take up to ten months. Earlier this year, Netflix revealed a first look at Squid Game season two with a poster of Lee Jung-Jae's Song Gi-Hun. Currently, the new season is in post-production.
Squid Game is a South Korean television series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix. The cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi and Kim Joo-ryoung. The film revolves around a secret competition in which 456 players, all of whom are struggling financially, risk their lives to participate in a series of deadly games in the hope of winning 45.6 billion won. The title of the work is taken from a Korean folk game with a similar name.
