My Hero Academia Deku may lose all his powers at the end of the manga

The My Hero Academia manga is about to end. Author Horikoshi has announced that he plans to complete the story by 2024 and now everything indicates that he will fulfill this promise in the coming months.

Currently, fans are watching the epic battle between Deku and All For One. This battle is not just a simple battle, but it is also the "final battle" that closes the story. In this battle, more is at stake than just confrontation. One of the key points is that Deku has no superpowers.

How did Deku lose One For All?

Deku inherited the powerful One For All ability from All Might - who chose Deku not only for his ability to become a hero but also for his instinct to always save others with a smile, even if it cost him his life.

Deku becomes the ninth person to use this power and throughout the story, he understands more and more about the true meaning of One For All and the great responsibility he bears.

Deku not only met All Might's expectations but also exceeded them, proving himself to be an ideal carrier of the One For All ability and standing out in the final story. He was able to face Shigaraki and fight equally. However, to defeat Shigaraki once and for all, and more importantly save his opponent, Deku knows he will need to make more sacrifices.

Ultimately, he decided to transfer his Quirk to Shigaraki to weaken him, allowing him to see Shigaraki's past and memories. At the same time, he discovers All For One's true manipulations.

Does Deku still keep the One For All flame within him?

Deku lost both arms and the power of One For All, as revealed to Aizawa. Luckily, with Eri's help, his body was able to restore his two lost arms, to the point where he could fight again. Although he no longer has One For All, there is still some of that power left in his body, similar to what happened to All Might after passing his Quirk to Deku.

Even without his full powers, Deku still brings the last bit of power with him to confront and defeat All For One, seeking to end the long war and bring peace to the world.

Deku's future

Currently, Deku has no powers, but the possibility of One For All returning still exists, especially since the Quirk may still exist in Shigaraki. If circumstances are favorable, Deku can regain this power. But even without his Quirk, he still strives to become the next Symbol of Peace.

Depending on how the story progresses, Deku could permanently be without his Quirk. In this scenario, he still aspires to become a hero, following a similar path to All Might at the end of his career.
